In order to respond rapidly to the multimode manufacturing demands of weaponry and make it not only keep relative steady in a phase but also include all kinds of mode changes, it is extraordinarily essential for war industry to establish new-style weaponry manufacturing system and strengthen the study of the manufacturing system facility capability planning technology. The problems on capability planning of the equipment have been researched in this thesis comparatively, including manufacturing feature extraction, the choice of machine tool, the evaluation of Rapid Response and the optimal decision of manufacture system, which are as follows:1. The demands of rapid response to weapon equipment were analyzed. And the main technological way and means of equipment capability planning of Rapid Response Manufacturing System was brought in.2. By introducing the expression of manufacturing feature information, which was the non-directed graph structure with attributes, manufacturing feature extraction of interactive parts based on Pro/E was realized, while the methods of cluster analysis and importance analysis about manufacturing feature were presented.3. To make decision of process routes, the method of Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) was adopted. What's more, the machine selection algorithm was set up, which was based on Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation.4. The evaluation indicator of manufacturing capacity was proposed, which was Value Focused Thinking (VFT). Also portfolio theory was brought in to analyze the investment scheme of equipment expense, and response evaluation model of manufacturing system was built.5. The optimal decision model of equipment capability of manufacture system was set up, which was based on the algorithm of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO).6. Based on above research findings, a software system supporting equipment capability planning of Rapid Response Manufacturing System was designed and developed, with the preliminary application was displayed.
