With the rapid development of computer technology, computer has been increasingly used in relay protection of power system. At present ,the technology of relay protection is expending to the integration of protection,control,measure and data communication. At first, based on the current status of the relay protection in Nanyang fine wax chemical plant, the thesis analyzes the problem found in relay protection of transformer substations. Then by discussing voltage level,distribution status and the electric transation characteristic and by contrasting with the technology of microprocessor-based relay protection, the distributed scheme is chosen to design the reasonable configure for relay protection system and solution for relay protection of transformer substations . Finally, the solution is presented that not only satisfies the requirements of power system in Nanyang fine wax chemical plant, but also has many advantages, such as high expansibility, the security and reliability.At last of the thesis, discusses the features of and microprocessor-based relay protection used in Nanyang fine wax chemical plant and views the prospect of this technology for power system.
