The power regulating system is one of the most important systems of China Experimental Fast Reactor(CEFR). Due to the sign of neutron flux, the power regulating system can regulate the neutron flux by moving the regulating rods in the reactor, therefore automatically control the power of the reactor. This system can overcome the disturbance of the reactivity and maintain the stability of the power.This paper summarizes the formulation of the mathematical model based on the design of the CEFR power regulating system and some further researches by simulating analysis. Comparing the test data and the result of the simulation, the validity of the mathematical model are verified, which lays a foundation for further researching of the power regulating system. Therefore the control quality of the system can be improved by a series dynamic response analysis of the system. Mean while, by analyzing the stability of the system, the necessity and operability of increasing the regulating rod differential worth have been proved, which provide the available reference to the improvement of CEFR and the design of the prototype reactor in China.
