Compared with the tranditional pipeline transport, the transportation of tube-contained raw material ("TRM" for short) in hydraulic pipe is a clean and high efficient method, which can transport both solid material and liquid material and which has the merits of transporting pure material, taking less room ,no pollution ,no dehydrating procedure with less energy and less water. So it is a new developed method of piped hydraulic transportation which is good to the continual development of national economy.With the help of the slit spiral flow, the TRM enclosed in the tube car can be well controlled and transported. The flow field of TRM transportation in hydraulic pipe is a rather complicate 3 dimensional field with a dynamic boundary.This paper made a pilot study because of restricted instruments.Under the same flow, different slot widths would lead to different velocity and its distribution as well as different distribution of pressure and energy consumption; also slot widths might affect the velocity of the tube car. The paper mainly explorers the effect of circular slot widths on the hydraulic characteristics of TRM transportation in pipe.The regulations of velocity and energy consumption when the tube car is moving are arrived by experiments and analyses:1. When the tube car is not in the pipe, the bigger the flow is, the bigger the resistance loss is. The relationship between the flow and energy loss when the tube car is not in the pipe is the same with that when the tube car is not in the pipe. But the unit energy loss is different.There is a varying process in the unit energy loss and the unit energy loss gets smaller at first and then gets greater when the flow is getting greater.Thus, there should be a reasonable flow that can cause a minus energy loss. There is a minus energy loss when the tube car is running and it can be found by the means of a serial of optimizing experiments. Finally, the transport efficiency can be raised by a proper enhancement of flow which can speed up the cube car in the range of economical velocity and keep the energy loss at a relatively lower level.2. When the upper water level is at a certain level; that is, only a middle slot with can make the energy loss minus and it would cause a greater loss whether it is bigger or smaller.3. The ratio of energy consumption reaveals the increasing amplitude of the energy comsumption of the TRM transportation system in hydraulic pipe,which is by no means beyond 25% and which is satisfying.The ratio doesn't increase with the flow, that's the flow velocity in the pipe, which shows that there are many factors that can affect the enengy comsumption and the best parameters of the tube car with a lower ritio by means of optimum experiment under a relatively bigger flow to improve the transporting efficiency.4. Under the same slot width, the higher the upper water level is, the bigger the longitudinal velocity of the tube car is; thus the transport efficiency can be raised by a proper enhancement of flow which can speed up the cube car in the range of economical velocity and keep the energy loss at a relatively lower level.5. Orthogonal design method is used to design the experiment. Analysis of range and variance is used to find out the optimum parameters.The result can be used for the further research of the pipeline hydraulic transport of TRM.This paper can be used for the further research of the pipeline hydraulic transport of TRM which might enrich the theories of hydraulic transport in pipe, capsule hydraulic transport in particular.
