The resource of the wetland in Nanjing city is very abundanct, with the Yang zi river around the city, the Qin huai river flowing through the city and with Xuan wu park, Mo chou lake. But recently, Nanjing wetland have been destroyed heavily, especially the urban wetland. The area of the urban wetland reduced, the water quality becomes worse, the hard bank was builded aside many rivers and lakes. The species and quantity of plant in wetland have reduced, worthwhile the disposition of wetland plant is very simple. And this will cut down its ecology value and landscape value.Adopting the method of literature study and investigating on the pot, this study has surveyed the plant communities of typical urban wetland. Based on the research, the study summarized the species composition, quantity character, quantitative feature and the index of species diversity. The result is that (1) the species and quantity of furtex and hydrophyte are very less, in the arbor and furtex evergreen occupy 16% and indigenous plants occupy 20%. (2) The plants community' s simpson index of lake is higher than river; the simpson index and JSI index of herbage on bank is higher than that in water. (3) The disposition models of the wetland plants in Nanjing are simple, most of which are " arbor+herbage" models.The study surveyed the landscape status quo of the plant in Nanjing urban wetland, pointed out that the disposition of wetland plant is very simple, the winter landscape is humdrum, and the disposition of wetland plant is short of zone trait and so on. Then the study summarizes the principle and skill of the construction of landscape of the wetland plants in Nanjing urban wetland. In the end, the study recommends some wetland pant which is suitable to Nanjing urban wetland.
