The bucket wheel excavator (BWE) is a kind of continuous and efficient mining equipment. It mainly subjected periodic mining force. This periodic incentive easily results in fatigue damage of the wheel boom and discharging boom. Furthermore, when the frequency of periodic incentive closed to the inherence frequency of boom system, it will cause resonance phenomenon and result in failure and accident. In traditional design, the plan is based on the result of static analysis, and then build prototype to test the dynamic performance of the product. This method not only increase the design cost, but also prolong the development cycle. With the development of the virtual prototyping technology, the simulation of dynamic test gradually matured. It provides conditions to reduce cost and shorten development cycle.The subject is on the background of DWY1200A type bucket wheel excavator which is developed by CMI (Construction Machinery Institute) of DLUT (Dalian University of Technology). Combining with the advantages of ADAMS, ANSYS, Pro/E, the rigid-flexible coupling virtual prototype of BWE is built. Through simulation, the inherence frequency of boom system is obtained. The vibration characteristic of boom systems in working condition is tested. During mining, due to the Dynamic impulse, the motion of wheel bucket and slewing flat, reaction force of cylinder and the loads distribution of supporting rollers is fluctuant. Through the curve of dynamic loads, the law of the motion torques of wheel bucket and slewing fiat, the maximal force of cylinder and dynamic loads coefficient K, and the distribution law of supporting roller are obtained. Through contrasting the analysis results of dynamic stress and static stress of L beam, the suggestion is put forwards that the dynamic stress is essential for the structure which works in complicated load case.Through research, an efficient method of analysis complicated construction machinery is summarized. Some designing experience is concluded. The simulation data is helpful for the development of BWE.
