With the rapid and extensive development of the infrastructure in China, there are more and more high and steep slopes, which are in the situation of complex geological condition, especially in the construction of highway in the hills and the mountain areas. In general, the slopes may be likely to slide if the geological condition is poor and the treatment for slope is improper. Thus, the security monitoring and stability analysis are very important and significant to the high slope with complex geological condition. By the method of monitoring and through the feedback analysis of the Zhuquedong landslide in Chang-Ji expressway, the stability of Zhuquedong slide after reinforcement was evaluated comprehensively. Meanwhile, combing the method of limit equilibrium and numerical simulation, the effects on the soft rock gently inclined slope were evaluated by taking into consideration groundwater, shear strength of slope soil and supporting and retaining structures. The main research content and innovative achievements are summarized as follows:(1) The hydro-geological conditions were introduced in detail about Zhuquedong landslide of Chang-Ji expressway. Further, the cause of deformation and the reinforcement measures of the landslide were analyzed in detail as well. Then the scheme of safety monitoring was presented for the slope in the construction of and the primary period of operation.(2) The working behavior during construction as well as operation period was investigated by the long-term deformation monitoring. Also the law of deep displacement in the slope was acquainted through the feedback analysis of the monitoring data. Accordingly, all of the above ensures the safety of slope in the construction and operation period.(3) The destruction model of slope with layered rock was analyzed deeply. On the basis of the limit equilibrium method, the conceptual mode of sliding destruction was established to calculate and evaluate the Zhuquedong landslide of which the slope is red soft bedding rock and gently inclined. Then, the safety factor of stability against sliding was deduced of which the expression was obtained as well. Further, the effects on the slope of soft rock gently inclined slope were conducted by taking into consideration the groundwater, shear strength of slope soil and tension crack development on the top of slope. Moreover, the effective measurement was presented to reinforce the slope.(4) With the method of strength reduction of FLAC2D (Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua), a numerical model was established to simulate the slope and analyze the slope instability. Then, the effects on the soft rock gently inclined slope were conducted, of which the groundwater, shear strength of slope soil and supporting and retaining structures were taken into consideration. The analysis results show that the strength reduction of rock and seepage of groundwater are the adverse factors to the stability of slope. It draws the same conclusion with the method of limit equilibrium.
