Coal gangue is one of the biggest solid wastes in our country, and a large amount of coal gangue was piled up and not only take up a lot of fertile farmland, but also block channel, pollute air, and cause a lot of environmental problem. By calcining and milling, the coal gangue can be used to prepare coal gangue foamed concrete, that is fit for the demand of our country'policy.Performances of the coal gangue foamed concrete were studied in this paper, and the main factors affecting the properties of the coal gangue foamed concrete were explored. An optimal trial proportion fitting for design target was got by orthogonal test, and the properties such as dry apparent density, compressive strength, linearity shrinkage, water absorption, soften coefficient and thermal conductivity were also researched in detail. The results show that compared with the common cement foamed concrete reported so far, the coal gangue foamed concrete prepared in this paper have lower thermal conductivity;The thermal conductivity reduced sharply with the decrease of the dry apparent density of the coal gangue foamed concrete; The linearity shrinkage of the coal gangue foamed concrete is small, which approaches that of the cement mortar's and smaller than that of the common cement fomed concrete's; It is good for reducing the weight of the foamed concrete by adding a certain amount of fly ash or slag.Based on the study, high performance coal gangue foamed concrete fitting the demand of our national standard for light weight wall material was prepared for the first time.
