The metro line has brought us great convenience, at the mean time it also causes many problems such as vibration. In this paper, the origin, propagation and attenuation of environmental vibration is studied by both test and numerical method, so that we can evaluate and forecast the environmental vibration produced by subway traffic according to practice. This paper is composed of two parts, test and numerical study.Firstly, this paper studies the vibration of the rail, the floating slab, the elastic supporting block and the tunnel. By measuring the vibration history, the amplitudes of acceleration were analyzed. And the frequency spectrum was obtained, the dominant frequency of the floating slab is between 40-100Hz.Secondly, the finite difference method is used to simulate the vibration of soil-tunnel system. The quiet boundaries are applied in the numerical model, which makes the simulation more effective. And the vibration of ground and adjacent tunnel was analyzed. It shows that the amplitude of ground vertical acceleration is grater than that of lateral acceleration.
