Study On General Bus Stops Planning And Design In Mountain City

Bus Priority development has become the main direction of urban traffic development at home and abroad. As the nodes of urban public transport system - bus stops are the important component part of bus routes , the bridge connecting the urban residents and the urban bus system , the starting points , the destination points or the transfer points for residents trips. Conducting the comprehensive meticulous research on settings is the concrete embodiment that implementing public transport priority devel opment, optimizing residents travel structure , facilitating trips and easing traffic jams.In this paper, on the basis of bus stops research at home and abroad ,it sums up the bus stops pattern and the applicable conditions; Through the actual investigations, analyse the arrival and stop features of buses at the mountain city stops; It apply time value theory of transport economics, bulids the stop spaces optimization model and obtain the reasonable stop spaces; By the different traffic conditions, it establishes the discrete and continuous location models, quantitative analyses the reasonable position of section stops; The minimum of total intersection delay by way of the objectives, analyses the best distance between the stops and the intersection; According to road traffic characteristics of mountain city, designs the bus stops patterns which fit mountain city ;It use traffic simulation software VISSIM, studies the parameter values of stop capacity model, then it calculates the stop berths by queuing theory and the TCQSM model; Finally, the above method has been applied to stops layout and settings in Chongqing Nanping City, from the macro to micro analyse the mountain city bus stops settings issue systematically .The research results offer the comprehensive, systematic, objective theoretical basis from different angles ,for the layout planning, location, platform type, the capacity of stops and the number of berths.They provide decision-making for the constructurs and managers of bus system, so as to further enhance bus service levels to meet the travel needs of residents in the mountain city.
