It is very important for the reliability of the dry gas seals for the compressor to realize the safety ,stability, the long period work as well as producing economy benefit maximization . In recent years,with the rapid development of seal technology, a new seal pattern,named T-groove dry gas seal,is presented . The dry gas seals' principle is that when the seal faces have the relative motion, the pump effect and the stair effect of the groove cause the gas to have the fluid dynamic pressure effect, forming the stable and certain rigidity gas film between the two seal faces, and assuring the non-contact condition of the gas seals, and simultaneously achieving zero revelation level theoretically about the seal spillage .Compared with the conventional mechanical seals, T-groove dry gas seal has many advantages, such as small leakage, little surface abrasion, long service life and high reliability. At present, this seal is widely applied to centrifugal compressor, centrifugal pump and other high-pressure and high-speed machines.Like the spiral groove gas seal, T-groove dry gas seal can also have the good fluid dynamic pressure effect, and might bidirectional revolving, this avoid the seal damage which created as a result of the contra-rotation, this caused the application scope of the T-groove dry gas seal to be more widespread, enhanced its research and the use value greatly. At present the research on dry gas seal is targeted mainly spiral grooves in the seals areas,the research on T-groove as well as the others is very small, but each has its applicable scope, Choosing groove should be based on specific conditions according to practice,and so it is very necessary to research T-groove and the others. Based on the massive spiral groove dry gas seal literatures, this thesis takes T-groove dry gas seals as the object of study ,and mainly carries on the simulation analysis to the T-groove dry gas seal gas film flow field.The prime tasks of this thesis are the modelling of the gas film flow field on T-groove dry gas seals, the determination to calculating the region,the developing of its controling equations, the numerical analysis about T-groove dry gas seal gas film flow field by means of the quite popular computational fluid hydrodynamics (CFD) software package FLUENT in the present market condition.Based on the researches above,this thesis obtains the gas film pressure field distribution between the seal faces, infers main performance parameter computation of the seal characteristic (for example opening force, seal revelation quantity, gas film rigidity, power loss and so on), analyzes seal property's concrete influence of the operating mode parameter and the groove geometric parameter on the seal stability and the leak-proof, obtains the partial trough geometric parameter good value, and these good value has provided certain instruction and the reference value for the engineering design.Due to the similarities of the structure of L-groove and T-groove, this thesis has carried on certain analysis and comparison to the seal property of two grooves, obtaining seal property of the T-groove slightly surpass seal property of the L-groove.
