Along with the great fast development of the railway transportation of China, there is a new challenge that how to ensure the security and reliability of the railway transportation system and how to continuously enhance the service levels and comfort while in the complex environment? Because the safety is the key in the railway transportation system, the railway transportation system has been becoming one of the research focuses.This thesis analyzes the safety characteristic of the railway transportation system, and proposes the four associated safety factors. On the basis of those researches, this thesis defines the objects of the railway transportation system. And also this thesis proposes a kind of multi-dimensional spatio-temporal model of railway transportation safety systems. This model mainly constituted by three sub-models, separately is spatio-temporal dynamic system model for railway which describes the dynamic actions of the security factors and structures of the railway transportation safety system, and spatio-temporal simulation model for railway which is benefit for the simulation of the railway transportation system, and spatio-temporal data model which is for the realization of the simulate systems and application systems. So the three sub-models are not isolated, just are proposed in the different need for the satisfaction in evolvement rules, safety prediction and information processing.Finally, we have been approved that this model can explain the interior rule and dynamic actions of railway transportation safety system effectively via simulation, after integrated the model with the practice application of safety monitoring center of Qinghai-Tibet railway, we can outline the operation mechanism of this model of security in application systems. At last, the whole thesis is summarized and some problems are put forward which need to be further studied.
