Water erosion caused by railway construction not only destroys engineering body, but also harms eco-environment hugely. However, the study of water erosion by domestic and foreign scholar in the railway engineering construction is still in the primary stage, and there are not mature theory and prediction method to apply. Therefore it is indispensable to find an effective prediction method for water erosion in the railway engineering construction, in order to controlling the water erosion effectively. Based on the research of previous studies, this paper spreads from the prediction method in the period of railway construction.Combining the topics of Secretary of the Ministry of Railways technology development program, and on the basis of collecting and analyzing the inspect information in the study area of Ningbo-Wenzhou railway, Wangwan railway, North Tongpu additional second-line reconstruction project, Shijiazhuang-TaiyuanSpecial railway, Xi'an out-ring railway, Qinhuangdao-Shenyang Special Line and Neikun railway, this paper presents a qualitative prediction method of water erosion on the basis of simple Bayes: Combining the characteristics during railway construction with the existing inspect data, firstly selecting rainfall, slope, vegetation coverage percentage, the project type, soil texture as the major prediction indicators; secondly as the data of runoff area and erosion ditch for sample data, the paper calculates the Bayesian probability table of the various indicators, then distills the parameter of prediction indicators in the basic prediction unit, finally according to the Bayesian probability table determines the soil erosion strength grade.
