As the metro trains' speed increasing, a higher requirement for trains' reliability and security has been put forward. The aim of the fault diagnosis system which plays an important role in the metro train is to guarantee that trains can run safely with high speed. This paper which takes the project "Localization of Guangzhou Metro Line 1" as the research background does a deep study on the features, theories, methods and realizations of fault diagnosis technology after the research of the metro train's structure and theory. It focuses on the explore study of the diagnosis logic and the comprehensive evaluation of the metro train fault diagnosis system.The fault disagnosis logic of Guangzhou Metro Line 1 is represented by the logical functional diagram. Taking the concrete logical functional diagrams as examples, the paper presents a detailed analysis of the role of each function module in the logical function diagram, expounds the logical mechanism of faults processing and makes a comprehensive analysis of the fault diagnosis system.The fault diagnosis model of Metro line 1 rolling stock is initially established by combing the signal syntagma and the diagnosis logical diagram.In the present paper, a comprehensive evaluation method of the graveness degree to faults was developed by using fuzzy sets theory when faults in various parts of the train occur. Firstly the AHP is used to determine the weight of the parts factor, and then a multilayer comprehensive evaluation model of the FCE is used to conclude the faults' impact on the train operation. Finally the comprehensive evaluation of the metro train fault can be realized.Aimed at problems of train fault record maintenance and management, the paper compiled the train fault records management software. The software is consisted of four modules: the data input, the data inquiry, the record analysis, the record statistics. It basically realized the fault recording management.
