In this paper, the technology of mechanical system simulation was used to analyse steering knuckle of FSAE based on computer aided design (CAD),multi-body system dynamical analysis (MBS) and finite element analysis for structure (FEA).The retrofitting scheme for steering knuckle and field production were guided by the result of CAE analysis. FSAE was considered to be"F1 in academe", and the aim of the competition was not only to output the innovative potency of the students and improve All-around Quality of students. Through the analysis of steering knuckle, new thinking of analysis will be used to other FSAE components for the whole structure optimation design of FSAE.Firstly, the Vehicle dynamical simulation model was set up by using ADAMA/Car, and the veracity of model was verified by comparison between simulation calculation result by the program and theoretical calculation result.Secondly, the document control of pavement was writed according to several of limited condition, which based on corresponding standards. Through the dynamics simulation of FSAE, ultimate load of all kinds of connection points of the steering knuckle.Thirdly, A 3D models of the steering knuckle was builded by UG, and the its data were introduced into the ANSYS to do it's the static analysis. Through the static data, the maximum stress and strain of steering knuckle were found by FEA and the modal analysis with FEA of steering knuckle was analysed to verify the correctness of the lower Order Vibration Frequency of steering knuckle.At last, according to the analysis results, two improving schemes for steering knuckle were proposed. Through the finite element analysis of two improving schemes, the improvement effect was verified, and different schemes were evaluated. In this process optimization, the processing Technology and processing Cost in the practical application were fully considered to reduce the design cost and greatly shorten developing time of product. What kind of improving schemes was adopted finally to the demands of practical case, which raised greatly the feasibility of improving schemes.
