In this paper,the steering knuckle of FSAE is taken as the research object.The dynamic simulation and finite element analysis are used to optimize the structure of the steering knuckle to improve the dynamic property and handling stability of the car while ensuring the safety of the car.The paper can provide reference for the design of FSAE racing parts,which is of great practical significance.Based on the analysis of the structural requirements,structure and materials of the steering knuckle,the initial three-dimensional model of the steering knuckle is established.Then,the ADAMS / car module is used to build the dynamics simulation model of the vehicle,through the steady-state rotation test and linear acceleration test to verify the accuracy of the model,the four limiting conditions of the race in the course of the race are determined and the dynamics simulation is carried out,and the load of each connection point of the steering knuckle is obtained under the four conditions.In the ANSYS / workbench module,the finite element model of the steering knuckle is established.The static stress analysis of the knuckle is carried out under the maximum braking force condition and the maximum lateral force condition to determine whether there is room for optimization.Determine the optimal goal,in the ANSYS/optimization module on the steering knuckle make topology optimization,the optimization results are checked using the ANSYS/structure module,through iterative optimization to achieve the optimization goal,and the modal analysis of the optimization scheme is carried out to ensure the stability of the steering knuckle,Make the continuous braking fatigue life analysis and continuous steering fatigue life analysis,to ensure the safety of the steering knuckle,2015 and 2016 steering knuckles under the maximum lateral force conditions of the comparison,check the optimization effect.Through the optimization design of the steering knuckle,this paper provides a reference for the design of FSAE racing parts.
