The Research On Public Space Plan In The Renewal Of City's Old District Based On Civil Society Theory

With the rapid development of China's economy and the acceleration of urbanization, the cities continue to expand the scale of urban construction. The scale of cities in East China is continuously broadening while the city's old district isn't able to catch up with the step of the city's development due to various reasons. Backward infrastructure and unorderly environment largely weaken the urban vitality. Therefor, the development and renewal of city's old district are at the urgency, and the construction of public space will become the core problem of the city space renewal in old district.The city's public space is a symbol of this city's opening degree, reflecting the level of the urban vitality. The variance of residents'life style in modern society leads to the changing of the activities in city's public space. As a result, the contradiction between the needs of residents'public life and the texture of traditional city is brought about. From the angle of sustainable development, the regulation and development of public space in the renewal of old district need to deeply analyze the effect of society factors. Thus, this article definitely proposes the importance of society factors in public space plan, and focuses on the actuality of public space in the city's old districts of East China, trying to establish a system of plan theory which is full of human care and accords with operation rules of public space.In the article, the first chapter clarifies backgrounds, contents, methods and frame of the research. The second chapter defines basic concept and types of public space, together with the characters of the city's old district. It briefly looks back on some researches of relevant problems at both home and abroad, and brings forward the idea of Civil society. The third chapter analyzes the history variance of city's public space in both China and west, and also proposes the developing rules of public space based on Civil society. The forth chapter establishes a theory system from two aspects--the design guidelines and concrete countermeasures of public space plan in small city's old district. And the fifth chapter demonstrates feasible measures of old district's public space plan in the angle of residents'public life, through the practice research made in the old districts of Yongkang City.
