Multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block is a new type wall materials and products can be promoted as both insulation and load-bearing materials in the hot summer and cold winter zone, it is necessary to study the fundamental mechanical behavior and thermal insulation properties of multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry for further. Based on the experiments and theoretical analysis of fundamental mechanical behavior and thermal insulation properties to the multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry obtained some useful results.Through analyse the experimental results of 36 multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry compressive specimens,it can be drawned: The compressive strength of the multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry is higher than which of ordinary concrete hollow block masonry.Based on the experimental results in this paper analyzed the main factors influencing the compressive strength of multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry,the stress method is used to establish a theoretical formula of the multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry's compressive strength,introducing the void ratio influence coefficient to this formula, the calculated result of this formula is coincide with experimental result,so it is much improved to the present code method. Moreover, the stress-strain whole curve formula of multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry and the value of elastic modulus are achieved in the paper.Through analyse the experimental results of 72 multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry shear specimens ,it can be drawned: The shear strength of the multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry is higher than which of ordinary concrete hollow block masonry.The mainly reason is the mortar's pin key action are found in the blind hole ceramsite concrete hollow block that the hole rate is less than 35%.Combining rigid-plastic ultimate theory and least energy consumption principle, the value of pin-key action can be attained, and base on it, the shear strength formula considering the hole rate influence of multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry is established. The calculated result of formula is coincided with experimental result, so the formula is provided as reference for engineering design and code revise.Based on the theoretical analysis of the multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block's insulation properties and the determination of the multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry's heat transfer coefficient, it can be drawned:ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry can meet the requirements of energy saving 50% in hot summer and cold winter zone, the construction process is simple, along with the development of the wall insulation system , this system will become the main way of insulation in the future.The results of the paper can be used to reference for design of Multi-hole ceramsite concrete hollow block masonry's structure design and the theoretical research.
