The lead shear damper is a cheap device of energy dissipation that has superiority performance and simple structure. Not only earthquake-resistance control need it, but also it can help the wind induced vibration control, and it has broad prospects for application.The article generalized the theory and technique of energy dissipation control, and it introduced in detail the research on the present status at home and broad of the lead shear damper, and on basis of previous research the article proceeded some new exploration.The article got the following main research work and results:(1) The article introduced a kind of novel plate lead shear damper, and it was used in a thermal power plant to reduce earthquake effect, and the article proceeded damping analysis and earthquake-resistant checking calculation.(2) The article designed a kind of novel rotating lead shear damper toward the beam-column connection and analysed its mechanical property by the ANSYS software, and studied the rule that width and height of the lead block impact the performance of the lead shear damper, and the article got several conclusions that had engineering reference value.(3) It proceeded test study of different work condition on the kind of novel rotating lead shear damper, and discussed the rule that the performance of the damper change in the different work condition, and the work condition included amplitude, frequency, cycle index, lead block width, lead block height. The test and numerical modeling result indicated that the damper hysteresis curve was full and the damper had good dissipative performance.(4) It proceeded test study on the precast prestress concrete beam-column connections, and the test included two samples, one sample installed a kind of novel rotating lead shear damper, the other did not, and the article compared the different performance of the two samples, and the performance included hysteresis curve and skeleton curve, and the result indicated that the damper significantly improved the dissipative performance of the beam-column connection.
