Study On The Green-Transportation Planning Of Middle And Small Cities In The Northwest China

By the entry of fast progress of urbanization, the Middle and Small Cities in the Northwest China are faced with influence of worldwide problems such as energy Crisis, the pollution of the environment, They are also enslaved to condition such as weak entironment,water in short supply and the lag of economy etc. Then the continuable development become the one and only choice to those cities before puzzledom.The Green-Transportation is the important pass of sustainable development, It's most important with long-term and practical signification for the Middle and Small Cities in the Northwest China to develop The Green-Transportation.Based on elaborates of composing and characteristic of the Green- Transportation, after the studies and the analyses about the situation of Green-Transportation of Middle and Small cities in the northwest region, the author suggest as follows in order to accelerate the development of the Green-Transportation: Adopt the compact city form and apply Transit-Oriented Development model,Improve the environment of walking and bicycling while restrain the use of autobike and private car by the methord of Transportation Demand Management,Build more spur track and laneway to increase the density of roads,Increase footpath to improve accessibility,Built avenue for walking and bicycling,Public participation and behavior changes in Green-Transportation movement,Harmonize the inner and outside connection of Green-Transportation.Finally the author studies the application of Green Transportation combining with practical situation of PingLiang city of GanSu province.
