Study On The Spatial Morphology Growth And The Land Use Structure Of Gaojiabao Ancient Town In Shannxi

For the speciality of the geographical position, the north of Shannxi ,standing in the boundary between the southern farming civilization and the northern nomadic civilization of our country, has been highly regarded by the central government in all ages.When the conflict broken out between the two civilizations, this area soon became the battlefront where the two civilizations devoted so much force to achieve the military purpose and then so many fortresses was built there, especially the large defensive system named Great Wall.All of this created the characteristic of ancient city and town in Shannxi. During the peacetime, depending on the advantage of the geographical position, the city and town of this area played a role of commercial center between Meng and Han people.With these changes, the spacial form of the city and town had developed to the new style and features.Due to the transfer of the boundary between the southern culture and the northern culture, the structure of the city and town in this area advanced in ceaseless change under the military defense system in different historical period.Based on the human settlements science and followed behind two clues of military and living, the thesis studies on the traditional town called Gaojiabao for the purposes of exploring the problem of human settlement's emergence, development and evolvement under the background of military defense. Thesis research focused on the evolution of Gaojiabao's human settlements and the field structure in mature period.Through that summarize the evolution of the human inhabitation's characteristic and the idea of national urban design.The human settlements of Gaojiabao is respectively divided into five periods. They are the blood relationship settlement period, the establishing period, the developing period, the prosperous period and the declining period. By analyzing the developing characteristic of spacial form and the main influencing factor of the five periods , this thesis summarize the evolution of the human inhabitation's characteristic and the idea of national urban design and the characteristics and law of military human settlements, such as the evolved facts, natural facts, relations between the settlements, evolution of the settlement and settlement's ultimate significance.Through the research by means of rationalism and comparison, this thesis can determine the characteristics of human settlements field under the outside forces effect. It means that the core function of field scale in human settlements must be satisfied when some outside forces produce significant effect to a settlement, and the outside forces not have direct relation with a settlement. And these functional use field proportion have a relative range. Meanwhile, the planning of ancient county Gaojiabao is actually a problem of the planning of human Settlements construction. It is a whole creation consisting of military defense, landscape structure and culture belief and has distinct east particularity.
