The Study On The Natural Features Of The Landscape Design Of Riverbank Space

In history,cities were built nearby water mostly for the purposes of living,military defense or flood control.The natures of different rivers created the characteristics of our modern cities;therefore,the urban developments are closely connected to changes of the rivers.Almost all rivers have been through the same steps,which are thriving,decline and revival.Looking back in history,several environmental problems that caused by unlimited urban developments had caught attentions on environmental protections.Nowadays,people are seeking sustainable development.Waterfront cities are showing their unique advantages, and the development of water resources are becoming a more and more important subject.Rivers are the most beautiful sights of nature.However,the process of urbanization has lead to population increase and land shortage,which caused over development of the riparian spaces.The natural looking of rivers has been seriously damaged;therefore,lost its charm. Moreover,water pollution and global warming have caused devascularization of many rivers; reserved space of regional rivers is disappearing;riverbanks are replaced by buildings or roads,lead to damages of the ecological environments of rivers.People are unable to be close to water,and it caused a series of problems including safety issues.Against the various problems that were showing in the past urban riparian landscape space,the thesis focuses on the relationship between urban development and rivers,analyzing the causes of the disappearance of urban riparian landscape space.Focusing the different functions of different sections of rivers,the thesis compares the functional,ecological and landscape of these methods.It also uses real project cases to discuss the planning and designing theories and methods,in order to summarize the experiences of riparian landscape developments.Address how to understand and make full use of the rivers natural landscape, the thesis attempted to make restorative design for the riverside spaces,so as to reflect the distinguishing feature of a city and form its characteristics.The thesis eventually selected a case study on the planning and designing of the riverbank landscape and ecology in Anju area of the Suining city.It plans and designs Qiongjiang base on its existing great natural landscape,deeply excavating the features of the natural landscape of rivers,showing the connections between people and water with sectional design,reconstructing the riparian space from the design of revetment shape and waterfront construction,planting vegetation,road network planning,and other aspects,Furthermore,it points out that besides responsible planning,it also needs the supports flom the government and the people to develop the riparian landscape space.The study of designing of riparian landscape can be used as a reference for the similar development designs of other cities.
