In order to strengthen supervision and management of maritime safety and protect personal and property safety at sea,international navigation and coastal sailing ships should be installed Voyage Data Recorder(Voyage Data Recorder,VDR for short)according to the resolution A.861(20)of the International Maritime Organization(IMO)and the requirements of Chinese Ministry of the Marine Bureau.Therefore,it is significant to research and develop a kind of VDR which can satisfy the requirements of resolution A.861(20)of the IMO and our country's situation.In recent years,many domestic research institution and universities have done much research work on the VDR technology and achieved some substantial results.VDR is such a device that is used to acquire and record ship fixed data.dynamic data and operation data.It is mainly composed by four parts,various signal acquisition modules,main controller module,power supply system and ultimate memory module.The main controller module is responsible for each part's configuration and coordination of the system.For example,It acquire.compress.code and record the data from various signal acquisition modules.After fully taking into account the current VDR system hardware and software characteristics and performance requirements,the paper finished the design of the main controller of VDR system.The system is an independent design based on the components.ARM in XScale architecture used as a main controller chip,has been greatly reduced system power consumption;Application "on-chip programming system(SoPC)," on special logic interface module design allows no additional hardware resources.Using embedded Linux operating system allows the system to have good real-time characteristics.The whole system has complete independent intellectual property rights and effectively reduces the cost of the systemIn the paper,the author has accomplished the following work: (1)Hardware design of the main controller module.According to the function of the system required to complete system main controller hardware framework design based on Intel XScale processor,such as device selection,circuit schematic design, PCB board layout design.(2)Logic control module design.According to peripheral modules and signal acquisition module interface features design a series of bus interface,such as PC/104 bus interface,IDE Bus Interface,Ethernet equipment Bus interface.(3)Completed the Bootloader procedures design of the main controller module. According to characteristics of the board design process Bootloader(4)Part drivers under the Linux operating system transplant and application procedure design.Completed the IDE interface driver transplant and the corresponding VDR main program design...
