Actually the essence of product design is the inheritance and molds of cultural. But regarding the question of what is China-specific design culture,we didn't make it clear for a long time.Since long ago we simply thought the traditional culture was China element or the Chinese mark,and pasted them groundlessly and with our any rules.We simplified them to the reuse of the shape,but was not "Meaning" and "Spirit" transmission,thus produced a batch of named Chinese characteristic,but in fact not only be short of connotation,even be empty of basic esthetic sense.The true meaning of artistic is creates the new mark,the new order,the new form,the new thought process "The tradition" should not be take the entity as a form,should not be the mark repetition which external revealed,but should be intrinsic,subconscious, the human intelligence,mental style,rhythm condensation of "the matter" melted by person and should be unceasingly developed and evolved.Design aimed at future. The tradition should not be manifests in its historicity,but should manifest in its transmission,inherits and innovates,thus make products which conforms to the time characteristic.At present the domestic academic circles which are in research of molds China-specific design is in the stage of awaking consciousness.How to molds the Chinese characteristic design culture is in short consideration.Therefore the author of the article attempted to find a way to mold the China-specific design culture in contemporary front design theory,so the product semantics was pushed up to the platform.The product design as a kind of culture or cultural consciousness,has expressed a certain cultural thought connotation.The product design as a kind of cultural language form is a symbolism whose function is the same as languages.Therefore the product design is a code process the design culture will be in a way of modeling language encoding to give to the form.Product semantics is precisely the studies of applying the conception of the language mark to the field product design.This article firstly analyzes present China-specific product designs which are ratified by academic circles and the society and then summarized the true meaning and the characteristic of China-specific design culture connotation.And then we introduces the product semantics theory,elaborated its theory foundation,the basic connotation and application.After that we analyzed the feasibility of transmitting Chinese culture by product semantics.The analyses mainly from the development of product design idea and Chinese traditional culture commonness.After that we introduced the principle of molding China-specific design culture.The principles are criterion in applying and some aspects which should be taken noticed at.In this foundation,we introduced the core content namely the method of molding the Chinese a-specific design culture through the product semantics theory,including two aspects which are product semantics design procedure based on modern Chinese culture and the establishment of the China-specific product image.By this comparatively logic narration,we make it clear the important topic of molding China-specific design culture.
