With the increase of user’s diversified and personalized aesthetic needs for product design,the aesthetics and symbolism of product appearance have become the focus of user’s attention.Due to the constant renewal of product color,material and finishing(CMF),the product appearance can show different sensory characteristics,so as to meet the various sentimental demand of user,and improve the added value and brand image of product effectively.In product appearance design,the design of product color,material and finishing plays an increasingly important role.Therefore,in order to deeply explore the user’s emotion needs for product CMF design,the coupling characteristics of product CMF design are discussed.In order to explore the coupling characteristics of product CMF design,the target research style needs to be determined to get the target style close degree of product CMF design elements firstly.Then,the coupling characteristics of design samples are analyzed by comparing the user’s preference and coupling degree of the CMF design samples.Finally,combined with example the coupling characteristics and cognitive mechanism of product CMF design are discussed to obtain the CMF coupling design mode,which can assist product CMF design for getting more popular product appearance and improving user’s satisfaction effectively.The main research content includes the following three parts.Firstly,the product CMF style image coordinate was constructed.The representative samples of product CMF were obtained by screening,and the product style image word pairs were obtained through expert interview.Product sample image evaluation was obtained by semantic difference method.Product CMF image scale map was created by data factor analysis.Through observing and analyzing,the scale map coordinate axis image word pairs were determined.Then the remaining image words were matched to the graph to confirm the product CMF design style,and get the product CMF style image coordinate.Secondly,the product CMF design elements style image close degree was analyzed.The target research style was determined,the corresponding style range image words in CMF style image coordinate were clustered,and the experimental target image words were obtained.The product CMF samples were collected,and after analyzing and arranging the color,material and finishing of product,the target design elements were determined.Through semantic difference method,the evaluation value of image of design elements was obtained.The comprehensive score of design elements was acquired by principal component analysis.Then the product CMF design elements style image close degree ranking was obtained.Thirdly,the product CMF design coupling characteristics were analyzed.The latent semantic analysis method was used to analyze the coupling degree of different CMF design samples.At first,the different CMF design samples kansei image evaluation date was obtained.Then the semantic space need to be constructed and dimensioned.Finally,the vector quantity cosine similarity of the kansei image score of design samples and the ideal scheme which projected into the semantic space need to be calculated.The calculated result could represent the similarity between the design sampled and the ideal scheme,which was on behalf of the coupling degree of design samples.By comparing the coupling degree of CMF design samples and the user preference,the coupling characteristics of product CMF design explored,and the preliminary CMF design rule was obtained by analyzing it.Then the CMF design cognition of user were explored.It provided a more reliable basis for how to get better product CMF design.In this study,the car body CMF design was taken as an example to explore the product CMF design coupling characteristics.The car body CMF design style image coordinate was established,and the style image close degree of design elements was obtained.The coupling degree of car CMF design samples is analyzed to discuss the coupling characteristics of car body CMF design and cognitive mechanism.
