Slope instability mostly occurs in rainy season or after rainstorm. So, the effects of rainfall on the soil slope stability and the accurate prediction of possibility of accident occurrence are urgent and complicated engineering problems. This paper focuses on the stability problem of high soil slope under rainfall condition. Based on the theory of saturated-unsaturated seepage and method of slope stability analysis, a comprehensive analysis on the influence of rainfall infiltration for the saturated-unsaturated seepage field and its stability of the high soil slope was carried out. Main contents of this paper were illustrated as follows,1. Basic theories of the saturated-unsaturated seepage under rainfall condition and the controlling equation of unsaturated seepage were introduced. The boundary conditions were put forward.2. By used of Galerkin FEM method an analysis program of seepage calculation was compiled based MATLAB software and further seepage field of high soil slope under given rainfall condition were calculated out.3. Aiming at characteristics of the high soil slope, the processing method of the rainfall infiltration boundary was improved so that this new improved method is more suitable for calculating seepage field of the high soil slope.4. Based on the calculation results of the seepage field, soil weights and the shear strength of the unsaturated soil were calculated after using of pore water pressure of the seepage field. Furthermore, an analysis program for slope stability was programmed according to MATLAB software, which could analyze the variations of safety coefficient of slope stability and the influences of rainfall on the stability of high soil slope.
