Study On Ultimate Information And The Model Of The Height Of The Chinese Character In Guide Signs

Nowadays there appears the problem of information overload and big size with the guide signs, but we have not done research on the ultimate information , and the model of Chinese character height lags behind the development of the traffic environment.There are many elements of guide sign information, including word,picture,number and so on. In this paper we mainly do research on word.By using the method of emulational experiment inside and validating experiment outside, we do study on the relationship of the number of the road name and the reaction time, and we get the ultimate information of guide signs based on it.There are many factors having influence on sign visibility, including the environment conditions,the characteristic of Chinese character and the height of it.we study the influence of the velocity,the luminance of the retroreflective sheet(color and grade of it)and the driver factors on the legibility distance, discuss the influence of the fonts width-height ratio,stoke width,stoke number and the word frequency on the word visibility, model the height of Chinese character based on the research results above,the locomotion and psychology theory, and validate the model by doing the dynamic experiment.The research results have some referable significance on the modification of GB5768 and the design of the guide signs.
