With the rapid development of economy, the number of motor vehicles in China continues to increase. Urban traffic congestion has become more and more serious. Road network capacity can be improved and traffic flow can be balanced by reasonable inducing. Traffic sign is an effective way to relieve urban traffic congestion under the existing traffic infrastructure. As one of the static inducing methods, road guide sign can provide traffic participants with an all-weather and all-around route guidance information. It has advantage of lower cost.Road guide sign evaluation is an important part of road guide sign technique. Microscopic traffic simulation has become a new and effective tool of the road guide sign research. Microscopic traffic of road guide sign is studied in this dissertation. The main work of this dissertation is as follows:1. The functional requirements of microscopic simulation of urban road guide sign are studied and analyzed. The framework of microscopic simulation system is developed. The data structure of road guide sign is addressed and designed.2. The layout scheme generation and asking pedestrian for way are modeled in this microscopic simulation system. In simulation process, road guide sign is located in map, and the road guidance information is scanned and matched. The asking pedestrian for way module provides driver with assistant inducing information for path selection.3. Based on the guidance information of road guide sign, the path selecting behaviour of driver is studied, and a driver path selection algorithm is proposed.4. Microscopic simulation system of road guide sign is implemented. Taking the road guide sign scheme of Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province as an example, the simulation process and results are given to demonstrate this system effective and feasible.
