A new type of diaphragm is proposed base on the scientific research "The major projects on the development of high concentration between the solid-liquid transfer diaphragm pump which under the department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province". In view of the large radial size in the traditional diaphragm pump and the bulky products, so a new type of diaphragm is proposed. The design criterion of the current U-diaphragm is blank. This article using ANSYS, First-Optimization, Matlab and etc., takes more comprehensive analysis and studies on the U-diaphragm deformation and its capacity value changes, deformation and stress distribution, which aim to explore the U-diaphragm deformation theory and engineering design methods. The main work is outlined as following:1. A new diaphragm is proposed used in diaphragm pump—U-diaphragm.2. The math equation of U-diaphragm deflection is set up. Adopting finite element method of software ANSYS. U-diaphragm axisymmetric model is set up and simulation test of the components is proceed, in the post-treatment part, U-diaphragm displacement data is extracted and handled used software First-Optimization, Matlab and etc. The U-diaphragm deflection curves corresponded to different compression and condensation are obtained, and their math equations are fitted out, the deflection law is summed up.3. The work capacity formula of U-diaphragm is derived. the volume capacity of U-diaphragm is closely related to the main performance parameters-flow of the pump. Through the U-diaphragm movement analysis, the functional relationship between the U-diaphragm structure parameters and its volume capacity is derived, which provides the theoretical basis for the design of U-diaphragm and its volume capacity.4. A simplified model of stress calculation is set up for U-diaphragm deflection. Through the boundary conditions analysis of the U-diaphragm, four hypotheses are proposed, and the simplified model is set up by using software ANSYS. The U-diaphragm stress calculation is proceed, which is contrasted with the same conditions of stress distribution in flat-panel diaphragm; and the characteristics of the U-diaphragm stress distribution are analyzed under different displacements.5. Optimized program of U-diaphragm is proposed. Through the optimization design of the U-diaphragm, the overall stress decreases in the course of the maximum displacement on the U-diaphragm, and gets the inner and outer surface equal stress distribution, and avoids the stress concentration.
