The highway alignment design is to meet the requirements of automobile on the premise,which must accord with the travelling characteristics of the automobile, in the guaranteeautomobile travelling mechanics foundation, pays great attention to the plane and the verticalcombination of solid geometric alignment design, thereby meet the safe and comfortablerequirements. Alongwith the rapid development of highwayindustry, automobiles travelingonhighways not onlytomeet thesafety, but also to comfortaleness which receives more andmoreattention.The article puts forward comfortableness evaluation of the highway alignment design, inview of the status that the alignment evaluation methods at home and abroad basicallyfrom theperspective of safety to consider, based on the people-oriented design concept in depth.Nowadays the study of comfortableness are mostly from the area of research vehicles, and theroads research only plane or vertical section to evaluate, but not from the plane and verticalcombination to analyse comfortableness.Based on the factors effecting comfortableness andvehicle traffic situation analysis, this article proposes the lateral acceleration rate model whichhasconsideredtheplane,verticalandhorizontalthreeaspect,andproposesevaluatingtheindexvalue,determines theparameters valueofthemodel,describes theapplicationoftheevaluationmethodinconjunctionwithtestsection.
