With the development of the electric industry, low-voltage apparatus on the power supply and the circuit protection is more and more important. It is required that the low-voltage apparatus has some intelligent functions. The low-voltage apparatus can achieve selective protection and the power supply safety. Auto Transfer Switch Equipment (ATSE) is a type of important low-voltage apparatus product. The study of its intelligent and network-based technology will be a important development direction.Firstly the frame of the equipment discussed is in the paper. Through the design of the hardware and the software of single-chip computer system, the intelligent control of the ATSE is realized. We introduce the theory and the design of the module concretely. The arithmetic of the measure and the protection is represented in detail in this paper. The intelligent controller is based on the PIC processor to sample and process the signal, and then to handle the faults of the voltage if there are any to achieve the ATSE's self-control. The software adopts the module design method, uses C programming language , have improved the execution efficiency of giving consideration to the procedure that programming efficiency can be very good greatly.Secondly we study the realization of serial communication of ATSE. Base on the Modbus RTU protocol, we design and realize the communication between the ATSE and the PC. Finally, the anti-interference technology of ATSE system is studied. The EMC experimentation of ATSE is introduced in detail. And some feasible method both in hardware and software is studied. In the data processing program, we determine the voltage is fault if the fault voltage appeared twice. Use this method we filtered the interference successfully and passed the EMC experimentation successfully. Especially the test conditions are beyond the demand of national standards.The experiments indicate that the intelligent ATSE we worked out had reached our expectation. It is a reference of further design of the ATSE.
