Drawing on ripe experience of microprocessor relay protection in power system, a new intelligent protection monitoring device provided with protection, control, measuring, display, setting, self-diagnosis and communication function and so on has been developed. The device also have protective steps of leakage locking, short-circuit, overload, phase-failure, under-voltage, over-voltage and so on. And it also could display operation and fault complexion using liquid crystal display and it also could have the system for inquiring about fault and communication. Software programming has used modularization configuration for upgrading easily. And anti-interference of the protective device has also been studied in the paper. The intelligent monitoring device used in vacuum switch should enhance electric device's performance greatly. It offers reliable protection for power system's natural operation and also has good foreground in application.
