As one of the ground improvement techniques, Dynamic Consolidation (DC) has been genereally accepted for its simplicity-implement and cost-effectiveness. This paper begins with the mechanism of DC, and, according to mechanics-knowledge and mathematics-method, analyses the affection of tamping energy and tamping times on depth of DC. In a word, this paper achieves the following results and conclusions.1.This paper gives an overview of history and current situation of DC, and analyses the situation of DC mechanism and unsolved problems.2.Aimed at the problem of DC design, this paper proposes a better DC-design way. According to this way, the paper makes an attempted simulation, and gets the relevant simulation formula, by using finite element software.3.Analysing the affection of tamping energy and tamping times on depth of Dynamic Consolidation, using the data of laboratory and in-situ tests, this paper discusses futher relationship between depth of DC and tamping energy and tamping times. And then, the paper fits the curve, and gets the relevant experiential formula.4.Comparing these two formulas, the paper gets the conclusion that using the Adina software can simulate DC, and this simulation is feasible.5. We guided a specific project with the result of this research. According to the examination of the result, the paper verifies that the result and the practice are basicly fited.
