Along with the increasing demand of the oil source all over the world, the application scale of the submersible motor as an important oil exploration equipment becomes larger day by day. In the actual application, the power of the domestic available submersible motor is relatively small, which results in that the displacement range of the pump unit is limited, so that it can't reach the requirement on the large displacement unit from the foreign market and fully adapt to special operating requirements under variable well conditions, and the problem of the bad operation reliability also exists.According to the problem in the application of the submersible motor and the market requirement, this paper develops an investigation on the novel high-power submersible motor. About the electromagnetic calculation, this paper investigates the motor design and characteristics under the influence of the stator-rotor segmentation and the inside-filling lubricating oil. By investigating and analyzing experimental data, the change law of the end region leakage reactance with the increase of the rotor segment number is achieved, and the weighted modification formula is achieved as well. By utilizing the principle of the fluid mechanics and associated with the empirical formula of static block and dynamic block of the thrust bearing and stabilizing bearing, the convenient calculation method of the mechanical loss of the submersible motor is achieved. On the local calculation of the motor, the Simpson method and the hierarchical method are adapted, which improves the design method of the submersible motor.About the structure design, a brand-new design principle is adopted: 1. to adopt a general design, the degree of generalization is advanced and the quantity of the whole machinery parts decreased to the maximum extent, so the cost of manufacture and maintenance is reduced.2.to enhance the adaptability design, according to variable well conditions at home and abroad, the design of high-temperature resistance and anti-corrosion is executed to adapt to the application requirement.3.to enhance the reliability design, the strengthening seal of double O type rings is adopted, the novel stabilizing bearing, central composite and oil strainer are designed, the intensity calculation is executed aiming at critical parts, all of which improve the reliability of the novel motor to ensure its long-term stable operation.At the same time, this paper also investigates the manufacturing technology of the submersible motor, points out its manufacturing difficulties and their solutions, which formed a complete serial of documents of stator manufacturing and whole machine assembly. A 300kW prototype has been manufactured based on the above manufacturing technology.Finally, a motor type experiment of the 300kW prototype is executed, including the no-load experiment, the load experiment and the temperature-rise experiment. After the detailed analysis of the experimental data, the final conclusion is achieved.
