Submersible pump system, is currently subject to a very wide range ofapplications in China’s oil industry with its advantages on efficient and easiercontrolling. As core of the whole system, submersible motor is the driving forceof the whole system, so its working stability and security determines the qualityand life of the pump unit. Submersible motors are generally working in theunderground a few kilometers away from the ground with complex surroundingenvironment, limited casing size. Its structure is generally elongated andcurrently designed for two multi-pole. Its stator and rotor installed in seriesmulti-vertical format. Because of faster speed, the submersible motor’sconnection is easily get badly worn, while the high temperature caused bysurrounding environment and its own also affect its performance and workinglife. In summary, it has a very important significance to design a submersiblemotor with the new structure, which can overcome these problems above.Firstly, as the working conditions and engineering requirements and otherfactors, introduced submersible motors in structural design features.Accordingly,propose a novel structure with the hollow rotor. To analyze theimpact of the motor performance with the structural changes,and verify itsfeasibility,make the hollow rotor portion which is the main design in this articleused in the classic Y series motors. And both before and after the performancedifference between the motor design changes has been compared separately fromthe body design theory simulation and finite element calculation parameters afterapplied the motor rotor and shaft design ideas to ordinary Y series motor. Then,try a variety of proposed new rotor structure, and modeling and simulation, toverify its feasibility. Finally,after the actual work on site investigation of Daqing Oilfield, a new type submersible motor has been designed. Based on the107submersible motor, the new motor’s parameters was optimized in aspects of statorand rotor size, groove, slot number and the shaft. The model using the finiteelement method in two-dimensional transient simulation modeling field, throughthe analysis of the results obtained performance indicators to verify its feasibility,the results meet the design requirements.The design concept has a great guidancefor some special motor design and optimization instructive.
