In the field of PV technology applications, solar energy lighting occupy an important status. The combination of the LED-lighting and solar energy has an unique advantage and good future in application. Nowadays, the cost block the popularization of solar energy lighting. This thesis focus on the capacitance calculation between solar cell, batteries and LED, then carry out optimal design, cost decreasing and improving the performance.The contents of his paper are as follows:1 According to theoery, local weather data and field test, we study the climate of Qingdao, the conclusion can provide data for optimal design.2 It was studied that the operation theoery and characteristic of solar cell, battery and white LED.3 the power and structure of the lamp was set, in the purpose of solar street lamp standard. In order to make the batteries can provide power for few days, we take the installation and the solar radiation into account, and set the capacitance of the batteries. Then according to field test, the obliquity and direction of the solar cell were settled.4 Using a auto charge and discharge controller, We perform the role of light switch and other protect functions.5 Using a monitoring system of charge and discharge of solar street lamp based on LabVIEW, the power of solar cell was tracked. By studying the charge data, we can learn the matching of batteries and solar cell. By studying the discharge data and LED operation data, we conclude the best matching capacitance.6 By adding a reflect mirror to the solar cell, the power was enhanced twenty percent.LED street lamp have been field tested for one year, the conclusion is that our LED street lamp system performance well, the ratio of capability to cost is high, has an good future.
