| Roads provide bridges for the area economic development and promoting communications between areas. As one of the basic constructions of one area, road construction is developed at a very fast speed. With high development speed, there comes the problems to be solved. In some remote area where electricity cannot reach, the traffic tragedies perform every day because of the road lighting problem at night. For this part area of road lighting, there remains two main problems to be solved. On the one hand, the problem of energy consumption, thus a more energy-saving lighting plan is needed. On the other hand, considering the distance, how to manage all the lights effectively is another problem.In view of the LED lighting technology can have lower power consumption compared to the traditional lighting technology when under the same illumination conditions, besides the longer service life, this paper combines the solar energy with LED lighting technology, and designed a set of LED lights controller. In the day time, Lead-Acid Battery stores the electricity generated by the solar panel, MPPT algorithm is used to get as much power as possible from the panel. The charging process contains three stages, the first two stages were set to charge the battery at constant current values, and the third stage was set to charge the battery at constant voltage value. A boost circuit was designed to drive the LED lights, and dimming the lights is also achieved. This lighting plan realized the expected performance.To manage the street lamps effectively, the technology of network communication based on TCP/IP protocol was studied deeply in this paper, and a set of remote intelligent monitoring platform based on GPRS was designed. The street lamps started a TCP connection with the remote server through the GPRS module. When the connection is done, the street lamps then can send their switch-state, the brightness and the battery state of charge back to the server, and the server displayed the data dynamicly. The server also contains a database to store the received data. The server can also send controlling messages to control the lamps. The server was developed with C#. Besides, an android application client was developed to realize managing the lamps mobilely, it can also control the lamps. The development of this client was based on socket, and realized establishing a TCP connection with the server.Tests were carried out, and the results show that the system implemented the LED lighting solutions based on solar energy, it solved the problem of energy-saving in the road lighting. The intelligent remote monitoring platform based on IOT(Internet of Things) provided perfect functions, friendly man-machine interface for the street lamp supervisors, and implemented managing the street lamps effectively and conveniently.This paper is from the point of view of project application, it combined photovoltaic, LED lighting technology and IOT technology, and developed a set of stand-alone solar LED street lamp intelligent monitoring system. It has a certain theoretical depth and engineering application value. |
