The aim of the paper is to make up the deficiency of this research, and to help the vigorous work of renovating the unfinished building.In the first chapter, directly indicate the reason; situation; significance and method of the research. And then, introduce the background of the unfinished building, including the cause reason; damage and the solution. After that, explore the theory of renovating the unfinished building. That includes the reason; characteristic; restriction and difference between the renovation of unfinished building and old building. In the next chapter, summarize the principles and steps of the design, then discuss the specific method of renovating the unfinished building, in terms of function; image; structure and interior decoration. At last, introduce a real project, the renovation of"binhai crystal palace"hotel in Tianjin TIDA. It is expected to provide some experience to other project in future.
