With the more demand of vehicle environment protecting, energy saving, reliability and so on, the function and complex degree of the engine electronic control unit(ECU) were unceasingly designed enhancing, so the development of engine ECU is more difficulty, more long and more cost. In order to enhance the working efficiency and reduce the cost for development of ECU, this paper researche the ECU hardware-in-the-loop simulation system for FAI EFI motorcycle.The paper research the engine and its the electronic control system principle and equipment, according to the ECU's software and hardware of the FAI and the engine performance, the design method of the engine ECU hardware-in-the-loop simulation system was proposed and the precept of system experience plan was established. The work step and flow were designed in view of the system experience plan.This work was conducted in four phases. Firstly, the engine and the ECU characteristic of the FAI electricity system were analyzed. Their performance was understood for preparing to research the next step. Second, the engine model was established through researching the engine performance, this paper establishes a suit engine model for this system, including air-fuel ratio model (including intake model and fuel injection model), cylinder cover temperature model, engine speed model and battery-voltage model. Third, this paper design the hardware and software for the ECU of the FAI EFI Motorcycle, which can fully exert the function of capturing signal, processing signal and controlling system for enhancing the system running rate. According to the system demand, the software was designed. Fourth, the experience study, which can better simulate engine practical work condition for reducing the fact time of vehicle test.The experience result showed that the engine ECU hardware-in-loop simulation system is effective in the development of ECU, it can exactly and quickly checkout the ECU controlling strategy and the working condition, and can commendably simulate engine work process. This system can enhance the work efficiency and reduce the cost in order to the development of ECU more conveniently and quickly.
