With the extension of the USB technology applications, USB-Host technology has been taken more and more attentions. At most cases, PC takes the role of the USB-Host. It's almost a blank area in non-PC to use USB-Host technology. As the industrial environment is not very good, it requires a high portability of data extraction. The demand for embedded USB-Host system is urgent, in order to achieve on-site data extraction and post-analysis. This project of study is based on it.This dissertation is dedicated to the design and implement of the USB-Host data transmission technology in the background of the Distributed Fault Detecting System of the Train. The Distributed Fault Detecting System of the Train is composed of TMS320VC5509 core, monitoring the analog and digital signals from locomotive. Later, the technical staff locates the time and type of fault through analysis of the data processing.In the hardware design process, it achieves CH375 with DSP, CPLD hardware interface design. In the software design process, with the study of the USB protocol and the FAT16 File System, it designs the USB-Host driver, builds the basic communication between CH375 and DSP. Based on UFI instruction Mass Storage Agreement, it realizes Bulk-Only transport protocol. According to the characteristics of high-speed DSP communications, based on the actual situation of the Distributed Fault Detecting System of the Train, it builds simplified file-level API functions, to establish a simplified file system. Through the simplified file system, it completes the data transmission on the Distributed Fault Detecting System of the Train more quickly with less consumption of resources.The current system has been successfully applied in Kunming SS3/4000 Locomotive Depot, though the laboratory design and debugging.
