Lots of research about the behavior of the normal special shaped structural system has been done. However, the wide range special shaped section column which ratio of section height to section thickness is bigger than the normal has received little attention. At the same time, as the corner column in the frame construction, the resistance to shear of the L-shaped is vital. Consideration the two points, it's significant to do the research on wide flange L-shaped section columns.In this paper, the shear behavior of wide flange L-shaped section columns was studied. Three parameters were selected: ratio of section height to section thickness, loading angle, with or not embedded column. Vertical loading equipment was adopted.In addition, stress of concrete and steel was measured; displacement of the column was collected.The pictures of the damaged columns were described in detail, and classified its for three types. The effect of different loading angles, ratio of section height to section thickness, ratio of reinforcement and embedded column were analyzed after arranging data.At last, on the study of existed shear capacity theory, the theory which founded upon"Truss-arch Model"for wide flange L-shaped column was built.
