The rapid primary design method of vans based on Virtual Design Technology (VDT) is provided to solve the problems of traditional design of vans. Digital design and digital modeling of vans, parametrical modeling of vans, module interface and module combination, and so on, are systematically analyzed and introduced. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1. The conception and characteristics of VDT, the current status of research, development and application of vans are summarized, based on lots of literature. Finally the structure and main contents of this thesis are given.2. Digital production modeling of vans are studied, mainly including digital product definition, digital product modeling theory, digital design of vans, description of design process of vans.3. Some key technology problems about modeling methods of parametrical modules library of vans are researched, including feature design, parametrical modeling, modules library vans design oriented, and database, and so on.4. Based on module interface technologies, some main module interfaces of vans are classified and standardized. Function mapping relationship among modular primary model based on function is provided, so that the primary model of vans can be rapidly designed.5. The virtual prototype samples of vans are analyzed, including strength, rigidity and dynamic modal analysis. The analysis results can be used to evaluate the primary design and provide suggestion to amendment.6. On the CAD platform of SolidWorks, with Visual Basic 6.0 as development tools, the prototype software for Van rapid design has been developed.
