Since the beginning of the twenty-first century, science and technology has ahigh-speed development, and the level of productivity has improved continuously,all trades and industries are trying their best to improve the level of productiontechnology to meet the increasingly fierce market competition. Machinerymanufacturing industry is an industry with a long history, but its original level ofproduction technology can not adapt to the needs of modern society. It is an urgentproblem that using computer technology to improve the original mode of production,and to improve the level of digitization of the industry.It is one of the main factors restricting the production efficiency that thedifficulties of information transfer between design and manufacturing systems.Using a new product definition technology to achieve the integration of design andmanufacturing is a practical method. Product digital definition technology is a newproduct definition method. Its core idea is feature-based3D product datainformation expression. It uses an integrated three-dimensional solid model toexpress the product information completely, and integrate the design andmanufacture information of products and parts into the3D digital model of theproduct.After learning the related research at home and abroad, this paper studies thedata content of the digital product model. According to the functional requirementsof product model, determine that the data sets of the model include of benchmark,coordinate system, entity model, tolerances, dimensioning and annotationinformation, etc. And classify the data set according to the different ways. dividingit into geometric information data sets and non-geometric information data sets andthe product layer, component layer and part layer and feature layer information.Finally determine the data structure.This paper studies the construction method if the digital product model on thebasis of the study of the data content and data structure. Determined build theproduct model using a combination of parametric modeling technology, featuretechnology, modular technology,3D dimension and so on. Take the rotor as anexample and determine the model’s specific build process, including analyses ofproduct structure, classification of structural features, dividing of functionalstructures, classifying of modules and executing with functions and so on.Study the application technology of the digital model, and use it in the processplanning system. Analysis of the required product information in the process systems and the information transfer method between different systems. And usingof database technology to achieve information transfer between systems. Determinethe processing method, the order of processing according to product structuralfeatures and dimensions, tolerances and so on. Finally generate the manufacturingprocesses of product using the AOS tree.Based on the above studies, this paper try to develop a digital definition systemfor the rotor using the secondary development tools provided by UG software andVC build environment. Designed the overall functional structure, core modules anddata flow of the system. Analysis and design the system from the perspective ofsoftware implementation, and confirmed the feasibility of the system by running ainstance.
