In order to provide supports for the standardization and integration of Distribution Management System(DMS), the extensions of Common Information Model (CIM) to components and case simulation of distribution systems are studied. The main works of this paper include as following:New CIM classes of distribution components are added at the basis of present research.First, due to the property of three-phase unbalance and some special components of distribution networks, the CIM models of recloser and sectionalizer are built based on the original switch model in CIM with the addition of some new attribute and roles, And then the aggregative class models of switching station and ring main unit are built. Pictures, native attributes and roles of these models are shown.Second, distributed generation (DG) is applied widely in distribution networks. CIM models of DG are built for the need of distribution generation development. As an example, this paper shows CIM model of FuelCell and C++ code generated by Rational Rose. Thus the CIM extensions to distribution system are implemented. These models can describe distinctly classes of different components and distributed generators, basic attributes of these classes and relationships between them.Last, perform the transient simulation of IEEE4 system on ATP; analyze the transient process with and without DG. Then test IEEE13 system and analyze influence to voltage and current brought by DG.
