The Research Of Building Life Under Sustainable Development

The demolishment and reconstruction of buildings have always been considered as the phenomenon of urban renewal. But in these years, large quantities of buildings which are still under limited design life are destroyed in succession, which causes the building life cycle become short. All these facts are worthy of considering.Comparing with the research which focused on the building life cycle, the relative research appears being lack of. With this background, this thesis seeks the strategy to extend the building life cycle under the concept of sustainable development, aiming to get the building recycling and sustainable development real.First of all, some basic relative concept in the area of building life have been summarized, and some relative regulation been outlined, raising the research methods of building life cycle under the frame of building system of life cycle assessment. Then the thesis aggregates the background and main facts which affect the building life cycle. Based on these, the reason why building life cycle so short and in what background all these contradictions come out has been analyzed. Following the life cycle assessment, the researcher analyzed the essence of the architecture lifespan. Then the paper bring up an idea that we should prolong the lifespan of the construction material, building economy, social and environment, which is important to the development of the city. To prolong the building life is the key step of the construction material recycle and reuse, and has the far-reaching impact.In the conclusion of the paper, the researcher analyzed the thesis of the building life in the city, on the premise of two dynamic balances between energy-environment-ecology and social-technology-environment. After that, the paper builds up a strategy framework on how to prolong the building life.This paper is the first special research on the building life in the country, and is a supplementary to the sustainability of the building. In the meantime, the purpose of the research is attracted attention of the society, and gives the advice to city manager.
