With the development and application of high technology have brought new requirements for power quality and reliability power supply ,the controlling and protection systems of HV and EHV substations have to meet these requirements.Improving power system network enhancing capability and reliability of power supply and level of intergrate automation must bemeet demanda of society .This is the first goal of power system.Substation integrate automation system(SIAS) development based on computer and network communication techniques and which has be develop rapidly recently .The production update and change generation is processed in more and more speed.From the points of applications, a series of automation technology reformation has been brought in substation designs ,installation, debugging,operation, maintenance and management with SIAS. The type and system configure of SIAS production found in markets are quite different. Thus in the process of project design and application ,it is of essential for choice an ideal SIAS that to reasonable configuration.First, this paper explains the necessity ,superior and the development history and the main function for the synthesizing automation substation.It compares the construction of three substation—the concentrating type,the way of concentrating and sundering together,the way of completely sundering.To point the way of completely sundering is widely applied now. Then it introduced the total course design of integrate automation substation project:first,through analysis of the electric network status,it introduced the construction necessity of 220KV mincheng substation,then through the analysis of this substation from total part,first order system,second order system,communication engineering,introduced a series technology requirements which satisfy spot and project needs.The fuctions, development process and development direction of SIAS is also analysis by author. For proposed SIAS, configuration and selection type and carried out, and these not to meet requires for spot are also deleted ,the fulfillment the design and implement the project.
