Floor lattice shell is stayed on the beam by worldwide architecture and civil engineering for its innovative appearance and reasonable structure characteristic. It can dramatically improve the seismic capability of such structure with large rise-span ratio by increasing member section properly, while the construction cost does not have much increased. This has a profound meaning for structure design. Shell with large rise-span ratio has a poor rigidity when earthquake happened, it has a weak capability to resist force mainly from horizontal. So it has to have a seismic design for shell structure in seismic fortification area, it also an urgent problem to solve in structure application. BRBs are a new system to avoid brace buckling, mainly composed by core steel component and restrain component around. While sustain axial force, the core component of BRBs can be yield completely and get energy dissipating through yield under tension and pressure. But the static shows that, the BRB damping reseach and design are only limited by ordinary structures, such as frame structure,frame-shear system, bridge construction and so on. It is still on its primary stage in the damping research of large span structure. The applicability of BRBs used in floor lattice shell is the primary discussions in this paper.The mainly works in this paper as follows:1. By studying static and dynamic analysis of floor lattice shell, to grasp structure deformation, regular pattern of nodal displacement and nature frequency, etc. According to mechanical properties, the rules of brace arrangement are presented.2. To analyze single and triple dimension seismic separately. Based on the dynamic performance of member under earthquake action, several arrangements of BRBs are adopted. Through the analysis of damping on these arrangements, reasonable arrangement is obtained by comparison. It also has a synthesized research on energy dissipating effect of shell structure by BRBs.3. the calculation and analysis of the structure are analyzed under frequent earthquake and rare earthquake. Compare both effects of damping, and get the result that BRBs can have a full damping under rare earthquake. 4. According to the structure application, rise-span ratio and yield strength of BRBs are analyzed. Get result of impact to damping system of each parameters, then analyze them and give suggestions.
