Wuhan Large Commercial Stores-Guidance System Design And Application

Guidance system is a cross-designed discipline developed in the 1920s. For the purpose of standardizing order and providing people with convenience, it is has been widely used worldwide. It integrates graphic symbols with oriented-information, and the graphics-oriented symbol becomes the media for people's direct communication, thus the function of the guidance system is realized.With the commercial development of Wuhan and the prosperity of this city, the settings of modern large-scale commercial stores become improved gradually. Such stores are the integration of shopping, leisure, dining, entertainment, and cultural consumption, so people have more requirements for the shopping environment. The convenient guidance system not only provides direction guidance for consumers in shopping malls to create a good shopping environment, but also combines function with art, upgrading the image of the store, emphasizing its specific service, and enhancing the city's competitive. Therefore, the guidance system plays an important role in the construction of the large and modern shopping stores.Based on the analysis of large number of examples, this paper deeply discussed how to design and apply the guidance system in Wuhan's particular large commercial stores, in order to achieve the goal of combining function and art perfectly. It begins with the indicative function and the intended function, and then analyzing its designing principles, such as economic, cultural and aesthetic value, function, identification, integrity, and artistry.
