The yield of low yield point steel is very low, wich's yield strain is only 1/2.5 times as plain steel,while deformability is about 2 times.Low yield point steel and plain steel have some similar characteristics, such as weldability, fire-resistance behavior, construction method, processing technology and durability,and so on. So they have good compatibility. T To increase the ductility of coupling beams,this paper put forward setting low yield point steel between steel coupling beams the first time,then do study on seismic performance of steel truss coupling beams setted low yield point steel member and setted plain steel only with ANSYS software,then compare the seismic performance of two different forms of steel truss coupling beams,and explore the rational form of steel coupling beams setted low yield point steel member.This paper do nonlinear finite element analysis from 8 specimens of steel truss coupling beams undering monotonic load and frequency cyclic load. The mechanical characteristics and deformation features of each specimens' are knowed.I also obtain load-displacement curve undering monotonic load and load-displacement hysteretic curve undering frequency cyclic load. Results show that the deformation of two forms of steel truss coupling beams is uniform. Magnitude and direction of axial force of truss elements isantisymmetric,and their mechanical is uniform,and the transmission force is clear.The dissipated energy of steel truss coupling beams is by the plastic deformation of tilted belly poles. Compaired to the truss coupling beams setted plain steel only, the ductility, energy dissipation capacity and plastic deformation capacity of truss coupling beams setted low yield point steel member improve greatly.To assess the the efficiency of steel truss coupling beams setted low yield point steel member to reduce response of structure under severe earthquake ,this paper does elastic-plastic dynamic time history analysis of fram core tube structure setted different steel truss coupling beams undering horizontal earthquake. Results show that the mechanical of steel truss coupling beams is uniform. Structure with mild steel truss coupling beams can efectly increase ductility of structure. It can produce plastic deformation to dissipate energy while under relatively small earthquake force.The comprehensive results show that two forms of steel truss coupling beams have good seismic performance, and their seismic performance is almost. The theoretical analysis has been studied is to lay a foundation of further Experimental Research.
