Based on the study of coal used and abrasion caused by ash for two 400t/h CFB boilers at Liuan Power Plant, the mechanism of abrasion at different parts of CFB boiler was studied. Technical measures against abrasion were put forward.In consideration of the arrangement of heating surface, experimental study on comparison of abrasion was carried out at the CFB boiler. The paper gives calculating method for abrasion criteria caused by ash at CFB boiler, and experimental results on abrasion caused by coal particles at the heat surface. In view of the abrasion locations at CFB boiler, the plan and materials for thermal spraying. The spraying materials mainly include chromium, nickel and hard ceramic. The main working processes, technical parameters, and way for quality controlling for each process was introduced.
